Set up your Relay server

1. Authorize this installation

Before starting, follow INSTALL-PLESK.md included in the ZIP: enable Node.js 24, set the document root to relay-node/public, install dependencies, and set APP_URL and a private SETUP_TOKEN in Plesk.

The token prevents another visitor from claiming your new server. It is used only for setup and is never included in a URL.

2. Connect the configuration database

Use the empty database you created in Plesk. The wizard creates the Relay tables; it does not create a database or a Plesk database user. Existing databases are rejected.

3. Create the first administrator

This account manages your Relay gateway. Keep its password in your password manager.

Relay is installed

The database schema, default group, first administrator, and private encryption and session keys have been created. Browser setup is now locked.

1. Sign in and add a database connection or an HTTP relay endpoint.
2. Remove SETUP_TOKEN from Plesk environment variables, then restart the app.
3. Set up the maintenance task from INSTALL-PLESK.md and back up the database together with the private var/config.json file.
